Known as the family-friendliest neighborhood in Brownstone Brooklyn, Park Slope is famous for its schools, Prospect Park and the largest uninterrupted selection of brownstones in the city; it has a large landmark area to protect them. It has two main thoroughfares, 7th Avenue and 5th Avenue, which both meet just about every culinary desire you could have, along with shops, cafes and services. The Park Slope Food Co-op, the largest co-op in the country, has a tremendous selection of organic and locally-grown goods, and the weekly farmers’ market at Grand Army Plaza is a perennial favorite. The park itself is a wonder of possibilities: paddle boats, vast green lawns, nature trails, bird watching, playgrounds, ball fields and the band shell, housing the annual Celebrate Brooklyn free summer concert series.
