Known as the family-friendliest neighborhood in Brownstone Brooklyn, Park Slope is famous for its schools, Prospect Park and the largest uninterrupted selection of brownstones in the city; it has a large landmark area to protect them. It has two main thoroughfares, 7^th Avenue and 5^th Avenue, which both meet just about every culinary desire you could have, along with shops, cafes and services. The Park Slope Food Co-op, the largest co-op in the country, has a tremendous selection of organic and locally-grown goods, and the weekly farmers’ market at Grand Army Plaza is a perennial favorite. The park itself is a wonder of possibilities: paddle boats, vast green lawns, nature trails, bird watching, playgrounds, ball fields and the band shell, housing the annual Celebrate Brooklyn free summer concert series.
